CHARLESTON, W.Va. _ Schools in West Virginia and eight other states are being encouraged to apply for $300,000 in grants offered by energy producer Dominion.
The money is being made available through Dominion’s Educational Partnership Program to schools to fund projects that focus on environmental and energy education. The partnership provides grants of up to $10,000 each to enable students in grades K-12 to strengthen their math and science skills.
Applications must be submitted online by May 1. The program is open to schools in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia. Applications are available by logging onto www.dom.com and search for grants.
