The grants are for up to $1,000 and are geared toward promoting creative programs that will help increase the percentage of students passing the Presidential Physical Fitness Test. Application deadline is May 15, 2000.
The other funding opportunity is the Local School Improvement Council Progress Awards, which are cash awards given to the most outstanding LSICs that apply. Winning schools receive $1,000 and are selected based on their LSIC activities during the past school year. Up to nine LSICs will be selected. Deadline for application is May 31, 2000.
