National Award Contest Open to Student Athletes

CHARLESTON, W.Va. _ America's Milk Processors USA TODAY are searching for a few good athletes as part of the 11th annual "Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year" award program.  

 

The award recognizes outstanding scholar athletes from high schools throughout the United States. Twenty-five winners each will receive a $7,500 scholarship, an invitation for a weekend at the Disney World Complex in Orlando, Fla., and an opportunity to be pictured in a congratulatory milk mustache advertisement in the June edition of USA TODAY and other national publications.


Nominees will be chosen based on academic excellence (35 percent of the score), leadership (15 percent), community service (10 percent) and milk experience (5 percent). A group of educators and coaches will select 75 finalists and then a panel of celebrity athletes will choose the 25 winners.
