Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission Accepting Applications for Annual Poster Competition

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Do you have a dream for yourself? Are you aware of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream for America? Could you express your dream artistically?  

If so, the West Virginia Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission wants to hear from you. The commission is accepting applications for its 22nd annual poster competition. Any student in grades one through 12 in a public, private or home school in West Virginia is encouraged to participate. The deadline for all submissions is Dec. 1, 2006. The theme for this year’s competition is “I Have a Dream.”  

This year’s competition focuses on King’s mission and the messages he delivered in the “I Have a Dream Speech.” The West Virginia Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission hopes to further King’s vision by focusing on one of his most memorable speeches. The speech can be found on the Internet at www.freewebs.com/btmoore/martin.htm.
