New State Board Member Brings County Experience To Board Table

Charleston, W.Va. - Governor Joe Manchin administered the oath of office to West Virginia's newest State Board of Education Member Robert Dunlevy during the Board's December meeting in Charleston. Mr. Dunlevy was named to the West Virginia Board of Education in November 2005 by Manchin for a term ending November 4, 2014.
A native of Ohio County, Mr. Dunlevy is a graduate of Warwood High School in Wheeling, W.Va. He furthered his education by earning a bachelor's of science degree in education from West Virginia University.
Prior to his State Board appointment, he had been a member of the Ohio County Board of Education since 1985 and served as its president from 2003 to 2005. His other community involvement includes serving as the Board Chairman of the Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley, member of the Development Council for West Virginia University Athletic Club, and a member of Wheeling Civic Center Board.
Mr. Dunlevy's career in sales began in 1979 with Wheeling Machine Products. In 1985 he was employed as a sales manager with Capital Manufacturing in Lansing, Ohio. He was hired in 2000 as the national sales manager for Lincoln Manufacturing.
From 1962-1965, Mr. Dunlevy was a member of the WVU Football Team. He also was a member of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team for two years following graduation from WVU. He went on to join the Wheeling Ironmen in 1967.
Mr. Dunlevy is married to the former Connie Hagerman. They have three children and six grandchildren
