Description
The Treasurer/Chief School Business Official (CSBO) will administer the financial affairs for the RESA; provide budget and financial reporting; serve as custodian for all funds, including, but not limited to, Special Revenue and General Fund; be responsible for payrolls and related functions; serve as treasurer of RESA.

Qualifications
• CPA preferred 
• Master’s Degree preferred 
• Bachelor’s Degree required (must include 24 hours in Accounting) 
• Must meet requirements to be a Chief School Business Official (CSBO) with the WV Department of Education 
• Must demonstrate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for governmental entities and requirements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) 
• Possess working knowledge of the West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of School Finance regulations, including an understanding of the funding formula 
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill to utilize the West Virginia Education Information Financial Management, Employee Management, and Employee Attendance Systems 
• Possess effective written and oral communication skills necessary for maintaining effective relationships with other staff members, school systems, and the community 
• Demonstrate proficiency in using various other computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel and email systems 
• Understand and prepare all Government Financial Statements 
• Demonstrate knowledge of a double entry accounting system 
• Demonstrate knowledge of fixed asset management and depreciation calculation 
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability in all aspects of purchasing, including, but not limited to, the solicitation of bids and preparation of proposals 
• Demonstrate the ability to understand the relationship between various financial transactions and the RESA budget 
• Ability to perform multiple office operations in a highly organized, accurate, systematic, productive, and professional manner while meeting multiple deadlines 
• Demonstrate the ability and desire to work independently and complete assigned duties in a timely and accurate manner 
• Possess knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws as they apply to the educational system 
• Experience in working with auditors and accountants 
• Experience in investments preferred 
• Successfully meet employment requirements which include fingerprinting and a background check 
• Ability to handle confidential information with extreme care 
• Other qualifications as deemed necessary by the Executive Director 

Salary
$59,491.20 - $74,143.20 (based on education and experience)
