Qualifications
Hold or be eligible for a valid West Virginia teaching certificate with proper endorsement in Multi-Subjects K-6 or K-8; Elementary Education 1-6 or 1-8 and Reading Authorization or Specialization required. Specialized training is to include: Academy 5 (Ashlock); Basic Skills; Learning Focus Strategies; test item analysis and interpretation; instructional strategies; motivational techniques; classroom management; parental involvement; reading techniques; knowledge of scientifically-based Reading research; Ashlock strategies. Job Description #146 is hereby made a part of this posting. Applicants are responsible for notifying Mercer County Schools of the completion of appropriated college hours in Reading leading to certification.
