Qualifications
1st preference - applicant  
must hold a valid WV  
Professional Service  
Certificate with an  
endorsement as Athletic  
Trainer; or hold a teaching  
certificate with an  
additional endorsement as  
Athletic Trainer;  
2nd preference - or  
must be able to qualify for  
a permit as Athletic  
Trainer; (To qualify  
for a permit you must be  
enrolled in an approved  
program and have a  
minimum of 6 semester hours  
in that program.) or holds  
certification through the  
National Athletic Trainers  
Association (NATA); 
3rd preference - or  
must be able to qualify for  
a Limited Football Trainer  
Authorization. (To qualify  
you must be a licensed  
health care provider which  
includes one of the  
following: physician, nurse  
practitioner, registered  
nurse, licensed practical  
nurse, chiropractor,  
physical therapist,  
occupational therapist,  
physicians assistant,  
paramedic, or emergency  
medical technician.) 
Criminal Background Check  
conducted pursuant to  
Summers County Board of  
Education Policy IV-G-4. 
Drug Test conducted pursuant  
to Summers County Board of  
Education Policy IV-H-1
