Welcome to the registration site for the Instructional Practices Inventory (IPI) Training. The IPI is a process that builds a school-wide profile of student learning through the collection of student engagement data and quality faculty conversations about the data. The Level I Workshop provides basic information about the IPI Categories, the protocols for collecting student engagement data with validity and reliability, and strategies for facilitating faculty study of the data. The process for using the IPI will be practiced with written scenarios and on site in a school.

Continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. and the training session will begin at 8:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided and immediately after lunch, we will travel to a designated school site to practice the skills learned in the morning session. Following the school visit, we will conclude the afternoon session at the training location. The culminating activity of the day will be a Reliability Assessment completed at each individual's own pace. The day will end at approximately 4:00 p.m. Participants should understand they are expected to participate throughout the entire day in order to obtain the information, skills and certification required to effectively implement the IPI process in their respective schools.

The IPI process was developed and validated by Dr. Jerry Valentine, the Director of the Middle Level Institute at the University of Missouri. Dr. Valentine also served on the staff of the West Virginia 21st Century Leadership Institute as a critical friend for the Middle Level Principals.
