Hosting an IPI Training
In order to host training, you must agree to and meet the following requirements.
Must provide a location(s) for the Training with set up according to IPI specifications.
Comfortable for a maximum of 20 participants and a Trainer.
U-shaped table arrangement with space for participants, Trainer and resource table.
Availability for LCD Projector.
Must provide a School Site for Practice Coding that meets the following criteria:
School location must be within a 10 minute drive of the Training location.
Principal must agree to host the IPI trainees and allow for one to three minute observations/coding of student engagement in all classrooms.
Principal must inform staff of the purpose and method of the visits and teachers should prepare students. They must be made aware there may be some small interruptions as the IPI trainees enter and leave the classroom.
Must take place on a 'typical' school day: prefer Monday-Thursday.
Must provide refreshments for participants and Trainer throughout the day.
Light breakfast, sandwich lunch and beverages.
Food must be located at the training site in order to limit driving time to the school practice site.
If funding is not available, please notify participants that breakfast will not be provided. Lunch can be handled by having participants order from a menu at the beginning of the day and the food delivered at the appropriate time.
Must have a minimum of 10, maximum of 20 participants in one Training. If the participants in the first Training exceed 20, a second Training may be provided based on: a minimum of 10 additional participants, a second Training room and the availability of a second trainer.
All participants must be prepared to attend the IPI Level 1 workshop and stay the entire day from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm or later.
Participants must be willing to collaborate in the WV IPI Data Collection by submitting their collected school wide data to WVDE.
Host will receive confirmation when the Training has been scheduled and will be sent an email with the Registration link.
Please allow 2 weeks to schedule the Training.
The hosting organization will be billed a $20.00 fee per participant for scoring the Reliability Assessment. The scoring fee will be invoiced by Dr. Jerry Valentine to the hosting organization. The hosting organization must provide a purchase order to the trainer on the day of the Level I training session for inclusion of the purchase order to Dr. Valentine with the answer sheets for scoring. The Purchase Order must be issued to:
