Mr. Manuel P. Arvon
Dear Mr. Arvon:
You have asked:
"If a substitute cook worked as a substitute cook in 1978-79 school year and did not work again as a substitute cook until March 16, 1989 (some 10 years later), how would seniority be calculated when applying for a permanent position as a cook?" Count school year 1978-79 plus whatever has been earned since reemployment. Although substitute service personnel seniority cannot be combined with regular service personnel seniority, they both are calculated in the same way. For your further information, please read the enclosed STATE SUPERINTENDENT'S INTERPRETATION "Employee - Salary |
