Mr. Billy G. Adams
Dear Mr. Adams:
You have asked:
1. Would there be a RIF or transfer if the two cafeteria manager positions of the board were abolished? RIF if total number reduced in county, transfer if not.
2. Can we reduce their salary?
Yes, if necessary, in order for them to have jobs. RIF law, of course, expressly recognizes this. In the case of transfer and reassignment, there could be a regulatory demotion. 3. Can we place the cafeteria managers as cooks? Yes, by either process. If the RIF process is used, then these cafeteria managers simply would fill actual vacancies in Cook III positions or actual vacancies in other positions which they previously held. They could, though, refuse them. If the transfer and reassignment law1 is used, then these cafeteria managers will bid on actual vacancies and on jobs made vacant by listing service personnel for transfer which they would like to have. Hoping that I have been of service, I am, Sincerely, /s/
Henry Marockie
