e-Learning Courses for Theatre

The West Virginia Department of Education continues to offer e-Learning courses in theatre..  The series of four courses consists of seven sessions each and were developed by the Office of Instructional Technology, the Office of Instruction and a cadre of three master teachers in theatre.  The courses are given at no cost to participants; three hours of non-degree graduate credit is available for a nominal cost.  The courses are to be presented consecutively, though they may be taken individually or as a bundle.  They are:

  • Theatrical Design & Production for Educators
  • Acting
  • Directing
  • Script-writing

Visit http://wvde.state.wv.us/elearning/ for more information.  Please encourage theatre teachers in your school to take advantage of this opportunity, even if they have limited background in theatre!

The WV Department of Education's Arts Coordinator is a liaison to West Virginia Thespians.  Information regarding the WV State Thespian Festival and other state theatre activities can be found on this site.
