TEACHERS, OUR GREATEST

RESOURCE

 

I would like to take this opportunity to tell all of the OIEP teachers what a wonderful job they do and to thank them for all that they do for our stu­dents both juvenile and adults. I am always amazed at the creativity and energy that all of our teachers put into their classes daily.

 

Recently I visited a school that had been having problems with a portion of their population. Teachers had been moved out of their classes into another area in order to provide school for these students. I expected to see at least some of these teachers unhappy with this less than perfect teach­ing situation. Instead I found smiling teachers, presenting great lessons to their students. I heard no complaints from anyone.

 

This is actually the norm with OIEP teachers. They teach in less than perfect conditions, teach­ing the hardest to reach students and they always do it with grace and caring. I frequently have teachers email me to tell me how much they love their jobs. This definitely shows in the class­room.

 

Again, I would like to thank all of you for the tre­mendous job that you do to bring 21st Century skills to our students and perhaps more impor­tantly that you are preparing these students to live in the real world as productive citizens.
