The 2010 CEA accreditation activities have come and gone. The outcome was everything we had worked for and hoped it would be. Mt. Olive, Huttonsville, Pruntytown, and Northern all achieved re-accreditation by the Correctional Education Association, posting 100% compliance for all.

Huttonsville and Mt. Olive were audited by Carol Biester from Illinois, on May 17th and 18th, respectively. Pruntytown and Northern were audited by John-Guy Bourque from New Brunswick, Canada, on May 20th and 21st. Both auditors were highly complimentary of all four schools. They were impressed with the dedication of our staffs, our programming opportunities, and our processes, in general. The pervasive opinion was that, not only do we meet the minimum standards, but we go above and beyond, in every case.

Congratulations to Kenny Holbrook and his staff, Kathryn Toler and her staff, Karen Boone and her staff, and Judy Burkle and her staff!!! All of them have represented the Office of Institutional Education Programs and the West Virginia Department of Education in exemplary fashion.
