OIEP and DOC are moving forward to create the first of many apprenticeship programs within correctional facilities. During the month of July an apprenticeship handbook will be created and specific skills sets will be identified within the area of food service.

The program will incorporate related instruction and hands-on work experience as required by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Programs. The facilities targeted as start-up sites are Mt. Olive, Lakin, and Huttonsville Correctional Centers. More information will become available as the program takes shape in the coming weeks.
