Harassment

Employees shall conduct themselves in a professional and collegial manner.  The West Virginia Department of Education strictly prohibits racial, sexual or religious/ethnic harassment of any kind or violence toward students and staff as outlined in Policy 2421 (http://wvde.state.wv.us/policies/p2421.html).  The Department will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment that creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment nor any act done with intent to cause fear of bodily harm in another.  If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination or harassment on the job, you have the right to file a complaint with the Department, the West Virginia Human Rights Commission (WVHRC) at http://www.wvf.state.wv.us/wvhrc/, and/or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) at http://www.eeoc.gov/.  Contact the Office of Human Resources for further information about filing a complaint.
