WVSBOE Policy 6200-Planning for School Facilities -this rule incorporates guidance for new facilities to incorporate a school nurse office/clinic and consideration for school-based health centers in new schools.

WVSBOE Policy 4336-WV School Transportation Regulations -this rule incorporates guidance on transporting students with specialized health care needs, school bus driver professional development and school bus driver physicals requirements.

West Virginia University is offering an online initial substitute school nurse training and renewal program.  This is a noncredit course with a certificate upon completion.  Please make sure your county board of education will accept this 18 hour training for initial substitute permit approval or the 12 hour course for renewal of the substitute permit.

Report and Recommendations:  Health Screening of West Virginia Children for Kindergarten Entry In School Year 2004-05.

The purpose of this report is to evaluate the process of pre-kindergarten screening as mandated under West Virginia state law and to identify opportunities for improvement.The report was completed by the West Virginia Children's Health Insurance Program in collaboration with WV-DHHR-OMCFH and WVDE.
