WV Safe and Supportive Schools – GATE Training
About the Program The West Virginia Safe and Supportive Schools (WVSSS) program addresses all aspects of school climate/culture through preventative practices and through meaningful intervention practices. School teams will work with an experience mentor to analyze results of the WVDE School Climate Survey and the WVEIS Discipline Module and formulate a plan of action to address areas of concern. Schools are finding that comprehensive positive programs can reduce school disruptions and improve school climate without reducing students’ opportunities to learn. WVSSS is based on the West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE) Policy 4373. Required In order to attend, a school must have participated in the WVDE’s School Climate Survey. Data from the survey will be analyzed and used as a starting point for the development of an action plan incorporating WVBE Policy 4373. Summer Schedule
