How are Success schools identified?Success schools are identified using the following process:
What are the expectations for a Success school?A Success school will be provided flexibility based on the understanding that successful continuous improvement is occurring and no intervention or supplemental improvement support is needed. Success schools will:
How are Success Schools reviewed for Reward school designation?A Success school that is ranked among the highest 10% of schools for growth, without significant achievement gaps, will be designated as a High Progress Reward School. A Success school that is ranked among the highest 10% of schools for Math and English/Language Arts achievement, without significant achievement gaps, will be designated as a High Performing Reward School. Reward schools will be recognized by the West Virginia Board of Education for their exemplary efforts. Specific recognitions will include:
How long is a school designated as a Success school? The unique school WVAI and subgroup proficiency-based AMO targets increase each year. Therefore, a school's designation is determined on an annual basis after certification of the statewide assessment results. Success schools will be required to continually improve their subgroup-specific and WVAI performance annually to maintain this designation.
