Lyons FYI - The American Library Association is celebrating Teen Tech Week - Geek Out @ Your Library, March 4 - 10. I am brainstorming now for events to sponsor that week. Great avenue to highlight digital learning. :) Candace Pleasant, Library Media Specialist Utilizing Acuity and West Virginia Writes is an excellent way to incorporate technology in the classroom. The impact it has on student scores in really awesome. I have been working with homebound students using both techniques. At first they struggles, but after the 2nd or 3rd time of getting in the program and working through the process they are asking questions and discussing that is a great improvement. I am really proud of them. Looking forward to hopefully seeing better scores. There are many other programs available that are helpful. The two above are at our finger tips. I would love to have the prek students at Frankford Elementary as a feature for Feb 1st WV's First Digital Learning Day! You can read the official email below from the state superintendents office. I was featured in an article in August about winning the ING Unsung Heroes grant. I would love to showcase how the money has been used to help bring some of our local students into the 21st century of learning through the use of iPads. There are many other programs available that are helpful. The two above are at our finger tips. Marcie Easton, M.S., CCC/SLP This is my 3rd year teaching Globaloria. This is an amazing class. Students learn so much! I am sorry to learn that because of the fee to participate next year that our school will not be able to offer it. Liz Daigle
