Farm to School programs continue to flourish in West Virginia, connecting schools with local farms to serve healthy meals in school cafeterias, provide health and nutrition education opportunities for students, and support local farmers.

Thus far this school year, 20 counties have purchased locally grown agricultural products from WV farmers – including student farmers.  These products include eggs, beef, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, corn and honey. The value of these purchases is nearly $90,000 for the first three months of the school year!
