Toasty Treats

Ingredients

Baguette, whole grain, cut into 1" slices12 slices24 slices48 slices
Tomatoes, chopped2 cups4 cups8 cups
Celery, chopped1 cup2 cup4 cup
Basil1 tsp2 tsp4 tsp
Black pepper0.25 tsp0.5 tsp1 tsp
Olive oil1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp
Garlic, minced1 tsp2 tsp4 tsp

Directions

  1. 1. Toss tomato, celery, garlic and basil in large bowl.
  2. 2. Mix in pepper and oil.
  3. 3. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour.
  4. 4. Preheat oven to 350F.
  5. 5. Cut baguette into slices and place on baking sheet.
  6. 6. Bake about 5 minutes until toasted.
  7. 7. Spoon 1/4 cup tomato mixture onto each slice.
  8. 8. Serve 2 slices per child.
