Ingredients

Brown sugar1.25 tsp2.5 tsp5 tsp
Water, cold1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp
Vanilla extract0.5 tsp1 tsp2 tsp
Salt0.125 tsp0.25 tsp0.5 tsp
Sunflower or sesame seeds1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp
Chopped nuts (optional)1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp
Dried fruit (apricots, raisins, cranberries, etc.), chopped finally1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 275 F.
  2. 2. Line large baking sheet(s) with parchment paper or oil lightly. Place oats in a large bowl and set aside.
  3. 3. Add nuts and seeds to the oats in the bowl.
  4. 4. Put brown sugar and water in a microwave-safe bowl or in saucepan on low and heat until sugar dissolves (about 1 minute or less).
  5. 5. Add vanilla and salt to the melted sugar mixture. Pour over oat-nut mixture in the large bowl and stir well.
  6. 6. Spread granola mixture evenly on the prepared pan(s).
  7. 7. Bake 15 to 20 minutes for 2-20 servings (30 to 40 minutes for 40 servings).
  8. 8. Remove from oven. Sprinkle dried fruit on top while still warm. Cool before storing.
