Golden Porridge
Ingredients

| Old-fashioned rolled oats | 1 cup | 2 cup | 4 cup | | Milk, 1% (low-fat) fat free | 2 cups | 4 cups | 8 cups | | Ground cinnamon | 0.5 Tbsp | 1 Tbsp | 2 Tbsp | | Vanilla extract | 1 tsp | 2 tsp | 4 tsp | | Brown sugar | 2 tsp | 4 tsp | 8 tsp | | Walnuts (optional) | 1 cup | 2 cup | 4 cup |
Directions
- 1. In a large saucepan, bring milk to a boil.
- 2. Combine oats and cinnamon. Mix into milk. Return to a boil.
- 3. Reduce heat and simmer for 6 to 10 minutes or until mixture has thickened.
- 4. Remove from heat and mix in brown sugar, vanilla and walnuts (optional).

Oatmeal can be made using water or milk. Add more or less depending on the thickness your child likes. For added nutrition, add berries or raisins.
