Fruity Toast

Ingredients

Whole grain bread3 slices6 slices12 slices
Cottage cheese0.25 cup0.5 cup1 cup
Pears, sliced3 cups6 cups12 cups
Cinnamon, ground1 Tbsp2 Tbsp4 Tbsp
Margarine, soft, trans fat free0.5 tsp1 tsp2 tsp

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. 2. Spread one side of bread with margarine. Put in baking pan with margarine side face down.
  3. 3. Spoon cottage cheese on bread. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  4. 4. Bake at 375 F until bread turns brown on bottom (about 10 minutes).
  5. 5. Cut toast in half and top each half with 1/2 cup pears.

Add any type of fruit in season to make this a healthy, fun breakfast all year 'round . Cinnamon is a nice way to add flavor without adding sugar.
