Educator Preparation
The successful passing of licensure examinations is part of the credentialing process in West Virginia. The Praxis
Series, provided by ETS, includes Praxis I and Praxis II series exams. The Praxis I, Pre-Professional Skills Test,
measures basic skills proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. The Praxis II measures professional, pedagogical
and subject-specific knowledge and skills through the Praxis II Content Specialization Test(s) and the Praxis II
Professional Education Test (Principles of Learning and Teaching Test).
