I.

Call to Order



President Cleo P. Mathews called the special meeting of the West Virginia Board of Education to order at 3:15 p.m. on February 14, 2000, in Room 1514 at the Charleston Marriott, 200 Lee Street, East, Charleston, West Virginia. Members present were Secretary J. D. Morris, Sandra M. Chapman, Sheila M. Hamilton, James J. MacCallum, Jim L. McKnight, Paul J. Morris, and Ronald B. Spencer.



II.

Executive Session



In accordance with the provisions of W.Va. Code 6-9A-4 and upon motion by Jim L. McKnight, second by Sheila M. Hamilton, the Board moved into Executive Session at 3:20 p.m.



The Board returned from Executive Session at 5:15 p.m. at which time President Mathews reported that no decisions were made and no business was transacted and recessed the meeting until February 15, 2000, at 9:00 a.m.



The Board reconvened at 9:00 a.m. on February 15 and following the call to order and in accordance with the provisions of W.Va. Code 6-9A-4, went into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters. Members present were President Mathews, Vice-President Gary G. White, Secretary J. D. Morris, Sandra M. Chapman, Sheila M. Hamilton, James J. MacCallum, Jim L. McKnight, Paul J. Morris, and Ronald B. Spencer. At 5:30 p.m. the Board returned from Executive Session at which time President Mathews reported that no decisions were made and no business was transacted.



III. Adjournment



Upon motion by Ronald B. Spencer, second by James J. MacCallum, the Board adjourned at approximately 5:35 p.m. on February 15.
