Opening and Printing a File from
PDF
As you work through the various web-based
trainings, you may encounter documents that you will need to open
and print. This tutorial will show you how to download and install
the additional program that will assist you in making the most of
the Hit the Ground Running Online modules.
Downloading
Adobe Acrobat Reader
You may have come across files on
the Internet that are in a format called "PDF" (post data
format). These files were at one time, a Microsoft Word document,
an Excel spreadsheet, or other desktop publishing files. In an effort
to maintain the look and feel of the files, Adobe has created a
program that converts these documents into a consistent format called
pdf. All the files in the web-based trainings will be in pdf format.
Follow the instructions below to download and install the free plugin
from Adobe's website. Remember to click the arrow in the top right-hand
corner to proceed to the next page.
to go to the Adobe website.
- In the middle of the main page
will be a box that looks similar to this:
- Complete the information in the
box as it pertains to YOUR computer system. In my example, I have
a computer that uses Windows 98.
Proceed to the next page by clicking
the
