The Hit the Ground Running Program
has several educational partners. The
West Virginia Department of Education, the West
Virginia Department of Adult Education, and the Regional
Educational Services Agency (RESA V.)
Adult Basic Education (ABE) Centers
are located in all of the counties within the Region IV Workforce
Investment Board. The ABE centers can help with earning a General
Education Diploma (GED), refresh basic skills, and improve computer
or keyboarding skills.
Mrs. Dianna Flanagan is the Adult
Education Regional Coordinator for the Regional Educational Services
Area V (RESA V). Mrs. Flanagan is a long time veteran
of the Adult Basic Education program in Wood County and now oversees the Adult Education programs in all counties in the
Region IV WIB Area. Mrs. Flanagan's duties include setting up Hit
the Ground Running classes in each county as well as administering
the ACT WorkKeys testing. Mrs. Flanagan can be contacted at RESA
V in Parkersburg.
The location and

programs provide basic skills tutoring, GED/college
entrance/job placement exam preparation, ESL instruction,
life-skills instruction, and basic
computer skills to adults throughout WV.

services include the LearningExpress
Library website that offers free online practice tests for various
examinations, Internet service, books on tape, large print
items, and reference materials for people
who want to study for the GED tests, Civil
Service tests, and others.
