The Hit the Ground Running Program has several educational partners. The West Virginia Department of Education, the West Virginia Department of Adult Education, and the Regional Educational Services Agency (RESA V.)

Adult Basic Education (ABE) Centers are located in all of the counties within the Region IV Workforce Investment Board. The ABE centers can help with earning a General Education Diploma (GED), refresh basic skills, and improve computer or keyboarding skills.

Mrs. Dianna Flanagan is the Adult Education Regional Coordinator for the Regional Educational Services Area V (RESA V). Mrs. Flanagan is a long time veteran of the Adult Basic Education program in Wood County and now oversees the Adult Education programs in all counties in the Region IV WIB Area. Mrs. Flanagan's duties include setting up Hit the Ground Running classes in each county as well as administering the ACT WorkKeys testing. Mrs. Flanagan can be contacted at RESA V in Parkersburg.

The location and contact information for Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Literacy West Virginia programs are listed on the Connections website below.  These programs provide basic skills tutoring, GED/college entrance/job placement exam preparation, ESL instruction, life-skills instruction, and basic computer skills to adults throughout WV.  Also included within this section is contact information on public libraries throughout WV. Library services include the LearningExpress Library website that offers free online practice tests for various examinations, Internet service, books on tape, large print items, and reference materials for people who want to study for the GED tests, Civil Service tests, and others.
